Position Description

The primary role we anticipate new volunteers taking on is housekeeping, which involves thorough cleaning from top to bottom in our dorms and private rooms. This includes tasks such as making beds, cleaning bathrooms, and tidying up communal areas like the kitchen and hallways. Additionally, volunteers may occasionally assist with activities such as furniture rearrangement, handling deliveries, or providing a helping hand with maintenance tasks, all of which could become part of the weekly routine.

Housekeeping volunteers are typically scheduled from 11:00 AM to 4:00 PM, with five shifts per week. Depending on our occupancy levels, tasks may be assigned individually or carried out by teams overseen by our managers.

It’s essential to recognize that housekeeping can be physically demanding, although we strive to make it as manageable as possible, even on busier days. Consider it an opportunity to stay fit without the need for a gym membership! 🙂

My time at the hostel was everything I hoped for and more! The work is as described and the staff are extremely welcoming and helpful to all the volunteers. The environment is amazing for getting to know other volunteers or hostel guests! The Hague is a great location (especially the beach) with connections to lots of cities that are close by! Overall an amazing experience and one I won’t forget for a long time!! Miss you all already 💕🦩

I would definitely recommend this experience if it’s your first time volunteering. the hostel is the perfect combination between make connections, visit a beautiful city and all the around cities and learn how do the hostals work and “the Volunteering tasks” The staff is super nice! And always try to bring the best vibes to the place. One of the best places to choose 🫶🏻 Ps. To make you experience even better, get a bike and discover around you’ll find so many surprises .

If you’re thinking about coming here – DO IT! I had the most amazing experience during my 2 months at the hostel. The work load is what’s agreed upon beforehand, even though it can get repetitive at times it isn’t bad. You normally work less than 5 hours during the week (which is great) but weekends are usually the full hours due to it being more busy. The staff are such amazing, caring people who always help when needed & make the experience as good as possible. You’ll make lifelong friends & memories that you’ll cherish forever. I love you the hostel family! ❤️

My time at the hostel was truly unforgettable! The hosts were extremely welcoming and helpful prior and during my whole stay. The work and responsibilities was as expected and working with the other volunteers is really what made it so fun! As this was my first solo trip and volunteering experience, I didn’t have many expectations but this was so much better than I could ever have imagined. The connections I made throughout my stay were amazing and ones that I’ll keep for a lifetime. All my love to the team and other volunteers – missing you all so much already <3

Volunteering at the hostel was one of the best decisions I’ve ever taken. The work was as agreed upon and most of the times we would even finish before the end of our shift. The breakfast is really good and the hostel is located in a great central location. As soon as I set foot into the hostel I felt immediately welcomed and had the opportunity to meet incredible people I’ll never forget. The staff is amazing and always available to help you. I would highly recommend this experience to anyone and would absolutely do it again!
